Royal Mail’s Hero Stamp Design

Nearly 100 students in Year 7 and Year 8 have taken part in the Royal Mail’s stamp design competition to honour the key worker and volunteer heroes of the coronavirus pandemic.

Students were tasked with coming up with and designing a new stamp that will be printed and go into circulation around the UK as a set of 8 new stamps for 2021. Pupils’ designs have included NHS frontline workers, school teachers and support staff, supermarket workers, delivery drivers, the vaccine scientists, cleaners and Captain Sir Tom Moore.

In addition to the winning stamps being printed for use in the UK, the 8 winners will receive up to £1000 in high street vouchers as well as 120 prizes for regional winners and runners up.

Here are just a few examples of the entries submitted by students at St Mary’s. Good luck and well done to everyone who took part.
