This online application form is our preferred method of applying to sixth form. Alternatively, a hard copy can be available on request along with the full admissions policy. We welcome additional visits and subject discussions throughout the year, which can be arranged by telephoning the academy on 01253 396286.
Applications are welcomed from students who attended other high schools and wish to apply for a place at St. Mary’s Catholic Academy Sixth Form. There is no requirement for students to be of Catholic denomination to join our Sixth Form. To be admitted to St. Mary’s Catholic Academy Sixth Form, students from other schools/academies must meet the minimum entry requirement of five or more GCSEs at grade 4 or higher (for legacy GCSEs grade C is equivalent to a grade 4) at GCSE including GCSE English and GCSE Mathematics. From 2005 to 2017 all students who applied to St. Mary’s and met the minimum entry requirement were offered a place in the Sixth Form.
In light of the COVID situation, we have redesigned our induction programme for delivery to start in September during appropriate slots in the timetable and calendar.
